Radnor Memorial Library Announces Achievement of One Million Dollar Goal

RADNOR, PA – The Radnor Memorial Library (RML) is proud to announce that the Be Part of the Story Capital Campaign to Build a Better Radnor Library has reached its one million dollar goal.

Over a two year period, more than 650 individuals, foundations, and businesses made contributions to the capital campaign. “I’d like to thank everyone who has given time and money to this campaign. The support of our community has been overwhelming! I look forward to inviting you all to the grand opening in a few months,” said Helen Grommell-McGrane, President of the RML Board of Trustees.

In reaching the goal earlier than anticipated, the RML Board of Trustees and Capital Campaign Steering Committee have the opportunity to continue fundraising efforts to add finishing touches and enhancements to the new library.

Construction at 114 W Wayne Avenue began earlier this year and is anticipated to be completed in 2018. The project will add more than 5,000 square feet and includes a brand new, efficient HVAC system, small group meeting rooms, a dedicated and enclosed teen space, new restrooms, an elevator, and an expanded children’s library with space to play.

Be Part of the Story: Radnor Memorial Library to Launch Capital Campaign

The Radnor Memorial Library will officially launch their capital campaign to the community on March 1.  The Be Part of the Story capital campaign will ultimately raise $1 million to renovate and expand the library building. The library has already raised more than $530,000 in gifts and pledges as part of the ‘quiet phase’ of the campaign that began in early 2015.

To celebrate the launch, Mrs. Dorrance Hamilton and The Hamilton Family Foundation have issued a challenge grant that will match any new individual or family foundation gifts up to a total of $50,000.

“Many individuals and family foundations have already contributed to this campaign,” said Anny Laepple, Executive Director of the Library. “We want to also give an opportunity to our many patrons to be part of the story of the library. This is a project that our patrons and donors will be able to enjoy.” Continue reading
